Product Description Definitive has always led the industry with the best-sounding shielded center channels available. Optimum surround sound home theater reproduction places heavy demands on the center channel speaker, which in many respects is the main speaker in the system and often handles 50% or more of the program material. It is no place to compromise and settle for second best. Because of this, Definitive pioneered the concept of full frequency range high-definition center-channel speakers. Definitive's center channels and C/L/Rs are consistently rated as the best available, and have won numerous Audio Video Grand Prix Center Channel of the Year Awards each and every year. Our current offerings are the best ever, all featuring wide frequency response and extended dynamic range with extraordinary detail and articulation. All feature non-resonant monocoque cabinets with Linkwitz-Riley crossover networks, pure aluminum dome tweeters and die-cast-basket bass/midrange drivers in D'Appolito arrays.

Excellent center speaker June 14, 2010 D. Matheny (Austin, TX) My family room is one of those spaces where it is really hard to fit good speakers. I was even limited on which center channel speaker I could get since the space above my TV would only fit a speaker that is 18" wide. After spending quite a bit of time researching and listening to different speakers, I settled on this center channel and I've been very pleased with it.
My current setup includes this ProCenter 2000 with 2 Polk OWM5 speakers for the left & right channels + 2 Polk TC60i in-ceiling speakers as satellites. The speakers blend perfectly and the ProCenter really does its job and pulls the whole system together.
I will admit that the ProCenter speaker probably needed more of a break-in than the other Polk speakers did - but the result was worth the wait. For such a small speaker, the sound is excellent. My Denon receiver set the crossover for this speaker at 60Hz, which helps pull a lot more sound into the center than my old entry-level Polk center did since it only had 2 3.25" drivers.
Overall, I highly recommend using this speaker as a center channel. I'm sure it would sound great with the Definitive Technology satellites; but I can vouch that it sounds great with Polk speakers as well.
BEST CENTER CHANNEL FOR THE MONEY!! April 17, 2010 Wilfredo Morales (usa) I bought this center channel without knowing much about the company. All I saw was great reviews... so I went for it. Long story short... best center for the money. I was amazed with the way it fills my space with sound. Crystal clear voices and LOUD... Well worth the money.
Finally! The Center Channel I was looking for! February 18, 2010 J. Hope (Orlando, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these to replace a TSAT-2400 from the Speaker Company, which had sound that just seemed too low on some sources and just right on others. It was driving me crazy, and it always sounded like the sound was coming from underwater. The center channel on a HT setup is extremely important, as that's where all the dialog is!
The ProCenter 2000 from Definitive Technology arrived rather quickly (thanks Amazon!). I haven't received the ProMount 90s yet to put it on the wall (and they're backordered), but I set it up on a table in front of the TV. It's AWESOME! I cannot express how happy I am to finally find a center channel speaker that sounds as good as my floor standing L and R channel speakers (which are a pair of the large Sonys I bought from Amazon a while back, that for Sonys sound surprisingly good).
I've just hooked it up, and it hasn't "broken in" yet, but even if it continues to sound as it did last night, I will be very happy with this purchase. The possibility of it just getting better has me tickled with joy.
I am powering everything with a Pioneer 1019AH receiver.
Thank you very much Definitive Technology and Amazon!
Difinitive 2000 Center Channel review November 12, 2009 Curtis Flory (Lubbock, Tx) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would probably rate this unit higher but my BP6's sound so good that I have to compare the Center Channel 2000 to them. If I were to do without the BP6's and use only the 2000 I might think it sounded better. Then too, I haven't had it that long or used it that much so it has not gone through a complete break in period yet.
I heard a 1000 in store and thought it was a great speaker. I'm sure this one will be even better after its break in period.
GREAT PRODUCTS, GREAT COMPANY April 11, 2009 ExBrooklyn (California) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Definitive Technology ProCenter 2000 is part of my new 5.1 surround system, which also includes four of the company's ProMonitor 1000 speakers and their SuperCube III subwoofer. I must admit that I was astonished at the immensity and beauty of the sonic presentation created by this speaker array. The room just fills with spectacular, accurate sound that is never strained or strident, even at pretty appreciable levels. The company, too, is special. I had lots of questions both before and after I purchased the system, and the folks at Definitive were knowledgeable, courteous and helpful -- and the time on hold before someone picked up was either nothing or a few minutes. All pretty much as good as it gets.
