Good product but ... June 24, 2010 Luis R. Ortega Paz Well, after devoting several hours to visit and enjoy the product, I would classify the product as a good product, but good results depend on the location of the receiver and transmitter, and works best when placed at a height greater than 6 ft, and has that high will be seamless.
Works better than expected and better than other products as reviewed June 14, 2010 J. Interlandi (Chicago or Amsterdam) Basically had no problems hooking this thing up. We use it in the kitchen and it's right next to the microwave and there is no interference or sound dropout at all. Does an excellent job turning itself on and off when signal is present or absent. Highly recommended to get speakers across the room from your system without wires.
Very nice product April 18, 2010 JDK (CA, USA) I use the WEM-1 in a 4 speaker setup. I used to wire the speakers, but I moved and wanted to go wireless. I increased the power level from the receiver for the WEM-1 attached speakers and they sounded much better. I don't know if I needed the additional power due to the speakers or the WEM-1. However, I'm very happy with the sound and the WEM-1.
JBL Expansion allowed easy speaker source relocation. January 30, 2010 D (Montana) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Easy setup. Really plug and play simple. Remote control does not function at all. Not my prime concern but could be an issue. I bought a house with speakers pre-wired throughout. I didn't like the central distribution point as a setting for my entertainment center. The wall I chose to put it on was isolated. Wiring back to the original house speakers would have been really not convenient. I chose the JBL WEM-1 modules to send the stereo source across the room to my speaker selector/controller, where the rest of the house speakers were wired. It works beautifully. Great sound with no static or other audible interference.
Nice option for surround sound speakers January 5, 2010 Mike (San Diego, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For several years, I had speaker wire draped over my fireplace mantle to connect my side surround sound speakers. I was hesitant to buy a wireless adapter, as I've read a lot of negative reviews about most. Although I was worried that this one operated in the 2.4ghz spectrum, it's performed better than expected. I sit near the receiver with my laptop using 802.11g (also in 2.4ghz) and get minimal interference between the two devices. I've heard maybe two pops/cracks after having used the speaker adapter for a month now.
Although I'd prefer it to use 5.6ghz to further reduce interference, I'm happy with my purchase and would buy it again.
