Product Description The Easiest Way To Enhance Your TV-Watching Experience
You're missing something, and you may not even know it. You're watching your TV; look how great your flat panel looks, how clean it is, mounted on your wall. You hear the music and effects and dialogue just fine from the TV's little speakers. Maybe you think: I wish this had more oomph!
Wireless Convenience
No additional (and expensive) LFE cable needed; no audio wires needed at all. Put your subwoofer anywhere you want it, and sacrifice nothing for the convenience. Plug the sub into a nearby wall outlet, connect the transmitter, and you're done. Onboard Polk Digital LogicTM uses advanced auto-sensing to determine the signal your system is sending (LFE or Line Level), and it instantly responds, selecting the appropriate low-pass filter. The 2.4-Gigahertz Wireless Transmitter is state-of-the-art, interfaces easily with any system, and can be put anywhere in your room.
It's A Stimulus Package For Your TV
Dollar for dollar there is no more economical way to add real drama and impact to your TV sound than with a subwoofer. It fills in the bass effects that your TV speakers cannot come close to reproducing. And for Polk Audio high performance and compact wireless convenience, the PSWi225 is the logical choice.
Compact, Powerful...Wireless!
The PSWi225 Wireless Subwoofer adds no clutter to your room at all, taking up less than a cubic foot of space and adding no unsightly wires, but it instantly adds a dimension of deep bass impact to your otherwise two-dimensional TV-watching experience. And once you experience the simple improvement of bass? Well, then you (and your family) may be much more receptive to exploring the excitement of multi-channel home theater sound. (It's already in your HDTV broadcasts and your DVDs. You just have to unleash it.

Right out of the box it only took 10 minutes to setup. Plug the sub up to one end of the room and the reciever to the tv then BAM!!! Your ready for mind altering window shattering sound. Ive only had this thing for a week and ive already had the cops called on me twice. This thing can open portals to distant lands you never even knew existed. You got neighbors you dont like? Crank this thing up 50% and you will never see For Sell signs being posted up so fast.. across the BLOCK!!! At 75% you can start knocking satellites out of ORBIT!!! Whats that, at a 100% you say? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOUNDS?!?! EXACTLY!!! Lol, but seriously this is a MUST BUY... Enjoy!
Great Sub but one minor issue for my application. June 2, 2010 B. Harrington (Plymouth, MA USA) I recently purchased this sub to add much needed bass to a Griffin wireless speaker system for my i-Pod. The sub is very simple to setup. Just plug in the sub, plug in the transmitter and hookup a pair of RCA's and your done. As for sound quality I'm very happy with it. A little experimentation with the crossover adjustment and the volume and you get nice rich bass that doesn't overpower. If you want heavy bass though, this sub has more than enough power to produce it. I don't notice any audio delay with this unit as others have mentioned. My speakers are also wireless though so the delay may just be equaling out.
I did run into one very annoying problem I though I should mention. My audio output device doesn't have active audio outputs, they are static. In other words changing the volume on my audio device remote doesn't chance the sub volume. This is very annoying, forcing me to constantly walk over to the sub to change it's volume manually to match my speakers output. I'm not sure I can fault the sub for this oversight, although a separate wireless remote for the sub would have been nice. I would make sure your audio output is active before buying this unit just to avoid this issue.
Other than the one issue above I'm very happy with this unit. Now I can easily move my wireless speakers and sub to any room in the house, even outside in less than a minute.
mostly disappointed May 30, 2010 D. Hawkins 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The good: It's wireless so you can put it anywhere that is close to a power outlet.
The bad: The bass is muddy, the volume/power is weak, there is a noticeable delay (and my sub is not far from the A/V receiver).
I expected a better product for the price. In a different room, I have a wired Yamaha subwoofer (#sw315) that I got on sale at about the same price as this Polk wireless. There is no comparison. The yamaha sounds fantastic and can shake the room at 1/4 or 1/3 volume. This wireless Polk sounds like a passive subwoofer.
Note: There is no way to wire the pswi225. (I would have preferred that there be some way to wire it up if/when your room or room configuration changes to allow a wired configuration -- but no.)
I do not recommend this product.
Note: I purchased this used but in like new condition from amazon.
Have had for 4 mos, been extremely happy w/it March 27, 2010 B. David (San Jose, CA, USA) Paired this sub w/a Yamaha YSP-2000 soundbar, and it's now given me an awesome HT experience. DVDs have come to full life, and I really feel immersed in the environment. A month ago, I upgraded to Blu-Ray (Sony BD-S360), and WOW...now DVDs and Blu-Ray discs really come alive. Only pro I've found, but one I can live with: since it's wireless, it probably catches signals. I have no wall between my family room and kitchen, so when I microwave, the subwoofer crackles a bit. I don't think it's damaged the sub, as the crackly only occurs during microwaving.
PSWi225 Subwoofer March 6, 2010 Greg (Tustin, CA) I have had this subwoofer installed for about three weeks now, and it works great. Set up was simple and quick. It is nice to have the freedom to put the thing anywhere with a power receptacle nearby. It delivers good sound for our small living area and works well with my mid-grade receiver and speakers.
