Product Description Our "stunningly accurate" DV62si bookshelf speakers have received numerous "BEST BUY" ratings from a leading "Consumer Buyer's Guide" magazine. Their long-throw 6 1/2" poly/graphite woofers deliver tight, accurate extended bass. Their patented "Venturi" vents (found on the rear of the DV62si) assist in extended low frequency performance. Custom-designed poly dome tweeters and unique front cabinet angles enable minimal distortion resulting in clear mid and high frequencies. BIC DV62si speakers are ideal for use with ALL surround and music formats. They can be used as mains speakers, a front or rear center, and as surrounds
Amazon.com Product Description Attention, all bass lovers needing small speakers: this stately pair of Venturi DV62si bookshelf speakers from BIC America uses a patented and specially tuned rear-panel Venturi port to extend the its low-frequency response to an impressive 43 Hz, nearly a full octave below the capabilities of most bookshelf speakers--the place where kick drums kick and bass guitars growl their deepest. The 2-way speakers would suitably fill out your home theater with surround sound, enliven your dorm or apartment with music, or provide gentle background ambience in your bedroom or business. Use one pair for stereo or surround applications or pick up 2 pairs (4 speakers) for use as the front and surround elements in a multichannel listening system. The speakers are magnetically shielded for distortion-free placement near your television or computer monitor. Video programs sound more lifelike and enveloping with timbrally matched speakers all around, and plenty of newer music formats--from the DTS surround CD to DVD-Audio and SACD--offer music from your favorite artists mixed expressly for surround-sound listening. (Alternately, you could use these as surround speakers with larger, floorstanding speakers for the front left/right channels.) Standing just under 15 inches tall, the DV62si speakers each use a custom-designed .75-inch, ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter for extended high frequencies and a 6-inch poly/graphite-blend woofer is light yet rigid for tight, accurate, and remarkably extended bass. What's in the Box Two speakers with grilles, a user's manual, and warranty information.

Great SQ for the price. June 23, 2010 Frank Jones (San Jose, CA USA) I can't say much that hasn't been said already. I'm very impressed with these.
The sub in my bedroom Harman Kardon 5.1 setup died so I picked up a BIC V1220 to replace the sub but wasn't thrilled because the HK satellite speakers couldn't produce midbass at all and the V1220 doesn't do midbass that well either. I grabbed these and the matching center channel relegating my previous fronts as rear channels, upgrading me from 5.1 to 7.1, these became my fronts and the 62CLRS for my center. I've had these for just over a week and they're slowly starting to warm up along with the cennter. The sound quality is far above what I expected for the price, and great for my bedroom setup. I tried the FH6 center as well, but found the horn driver to be a bit bright for my taste and the midbass was clean but not enough of it.
I've run these through their paces with everything from avatar, the pianist and many other blu-ray movies. Music ranging from Ottmar Liebert to the Floaters and even a bit of some dirty south and it's impressed me with the overall color and timbre.
These are a tad big for a bedroom setup but match well with the porky center channel.
Excellent bang for buck, especially when properly modded June 23, 2010 D. Lowery (California) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not only am I trained electronics engineer, I'm also a tweaker by nature. I just can't leave well enough alone. All of the stereo equipment I own is modded in some way or another. When I purchased my BIC DV62si speakers I really did not think something costing one hundred and change could compete with my Infinitys. To my surprise they sounded cleaner so I began using them as my main listening speakers. The only problem with them is they tended to be shrill and grate on the ears after extended sessions. I heard of a guy (Ed) doing mods on them to smooth them out but after that they sounded muffled. I still was not satisfied with them but I knew they had the potential to be great. The major problem was not getting enough high midrange out. That and the fact that these are two way speakers and that's the way they sound, with or without Ed's mod. Another problem was the tendency to be tunnel-ish sounding due to a hump in the response of the woofer.
I decided to experiment with the crossovers myself and believe I now have discovered the sweet spots for both driver circuits. My mod fixes the bright harshness of the tweeter and contours the sound of the woofer eliminating the tunnel sound. You really can't even tell it's a two way speaker any more. It's amazing. The DV62si's sound more like 3-ways. The articulation of the voice is there in all it's glory. The sound-stage is much more three dimensional.
The conclusion is that the DV62si is a heck of a bargain in stock form and has the potential to as good as a $500 pair of speakers.
an ear full of awesome June 11, 2010 Daniel J. Fackender (FL) these speakers are pretty awesome all the way around. ive had them for 4 months now and they have handled all the abuse ive thrown at them. i play mostly screamo, hardcore alternative, punk, and very loud movies. they sound pretty good without a sub but i still gotta annoy the neighbors so it wont hurt to throw one in with these beasts. i just have a normal everyday 100 watt per channel 2.0 stereo receiver but they get really flippin loud not even half way up. out of the box they do need to be worked a little before the bass really starts to show. i gave it about 2 weeks. im tellin ya, buy these you wont regret it. the sound stage is excellent. i dont see how they are selling these for under 200.
Perfect Bookshelf Speakers April 16, 2010 P. Malayil (Lansing, US) These are the best bookshelf speakers i have encountered so far. Do your research in about in forum out there and you won't find a different opinion. With 7 years warranty and the quality you get, they are correctly priced. These two way speakers come in wooden boxes. I have been using them for about 3 months now and absolutely happy with my purchase. It is powered by an Onkyo SR 500 and hasn't let me down whatever i play through them. Sharp treble and nice bass. Technicall, BIC says the venturi vent can get bass frequencies down up to 43. Although i have no means of evaluating that, I hear very musical , no boomy, bass through them (Get a good sub if you want to shake, shatter and breake that window). Many of the reviews complains that they are too bright; well, not for me. It reproduces all frequencies the right way it should be heard. BIC earned itself another loyal customer.
Best use of a hundred dollars you could find! March 12, 2010 James F. Tremblay (St. Albans, VT, US) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The BIC America DV62si bookshelf speakers are, without any doubt in my mind, the best use of a hundred (or so) dollars that you could possible find. I've owned Totems, Castles, Focals, Energy's, Soliloquy's and a host of others, but all of those are quadruple (plus) the cost of these BIC wonders. High end resolution in excellent, low end punch is also there (without getting in your face with artificial bang) and the midrange perfomrance on vocals, pianos, etc. is excellent. Basically, the overall sonic qualities exuded by these inexpensive monitors is amazing despite the price point. Binding post connections are an added plus!
